Returns And Refunds

"You" or "the customer" refers to the person who places and pays for an order on the website.

"We," "us" or "our" refers to Inama Bookshop, as appropriate.

Conditions

Items may be returned under any of the following circumstances:

1. Incorrect Product / Not As Described / Damaged

An incorrect item sent to the customer is eligible for a replacement with the originally purchased item stated on the original order confirmation.

An item that is significantly not as described on the website is eligible for a replacement or a refund.

An item that is significantly damaged or missing some parts, at the time of delivery, is eligible for a replacement or a refund.

To be eligible for a refund or replacement, the item must be in the same condition that it was delivered in.

2. Product Did Not Arrive

If a purchased item has not been delivered 10 days past the estimated delivery date and if this is entirely due to an error or failure on our part, then the customer will be eligible for a full refund of the purchase price, including delivery costs. 

3. Unclaimed by Customer

In cases where the product is returned to us for any of the following reasons: 

  • incomplete or inaccurate address provided by the customer, 
  • item unclaimed by the customer,
  • customer unreachable at the delivery point, 
  • returned to sender, or similar, 

the refund shall be the purchase price, less any shipping costs, return costs, storage fees and transaction costs.

In case of a refund that is not due to an error on our part, the transaction fees incurred by Inama Bookshop will be deducted from the refund amount.

Procedure

A request for a item replacement must be submitted within three (3) days of the date of delivery as recorded by the courier service provider.

For items that were not delivered, you may notify us at any time within 14 days from the estimated date of delivery.

The returned item is the customer's responsibility until it reaches Inama Bookshop.

Inama Bookshop is not responsible for items lost during shipment back to us.

The customer will be responsible for paying for the costs of returning the item to Inama Bookshop. 

We recommend you contact us before sending an item back to us, to confirm that the purchased item is eligible for return before you go to the trouble and expense of sending it back.  

Replacements or refunds will only be processed after Inama Bookshop has received the returned items.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you that we have received your returned item. 

We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

In the event that Inama Bookshop is unable to fulfil an approved replacement request, the customer shall be eligible for a refund to the account originally charged.

If approved, then your refund will be processed and made in the original method of payment, within seven calendar days from the date we receive the item, or the date of notification of non-delivery.

Inama Bookshop may offer to refund any payment using a store gift voucher.

Other Terms and Conditions

We do not refund M-Pesa transaction fees or credit card fees.

For all refunds or exchanges, we require a receipt or proof of purchase and any applicable transaction code or order number. 

Inama Bookshop reserves the right to request an ID during any transaction.

Only regular priced items may be refunded or exchanged.

All item purchased as "Sale" and/or "Clearance" may not be returned or exchanged.

Exchange items will be delivered following our normal delivery channels, unless alternative arrangements are agreed upon with the customer.
